Cool pool party

Last night we had the energy of good parents and took the girls to the pool! It was Emmie's first trip, and Ellie hadn't been swimming in a looooooooong time. Ellie is of the age where new things are intimidating and she approaches it with both excitement and caution--seeing her experience things with new eyes always makes my heart swell. It was a great trip and at least accounted for Emery's good night of sleep. On a side note, I should mention this song from Yo Gabba Gabba!, "Pool Party" by the Aquabats, is my favorite:

Coffee, like mommy and daddy

Ellie wanted coffee, like mom and daddy, so C obliged with some hot chocolate in a child-sized travel mug (a gift from G'ma)... she's having trouble grasping the slow flow sip idea and is trying her hardest to chug which has resulted in lots of spilling with every sip. C had the forsight to provide a bib...
